Location: Marine Reach Training

Focus: Reaching the Island Nations of the Pacific

The Go Pacific DTS is our “Signature DTS” and is run 3 out of 4 quarters of the year! Students on our Go Pacific DTS are going to do just that – GO into the South Pacific islands in order to share the love, compassion and truth of Jesus. We are called by Jesus to BE disciples, and also to MAKE disciples in all parts of the world. Our focus area in this DTS will be the people living in the island communities of Vanuatu. As a ministry we are investing long-term into Vanuatu, and the Go Pacific DTS will play an active role in quite literally — discipling a nation! It’s what we were created to do! There are lots of aspects to this DTS, and a wide range of exciting opportunities! One week you might be building a 10,000 liter water-tank in a traditional jungle village, and the next week speaking to street kids in the slums of a port side city. You just never know! One thing we DO know though is — It has the potential of being an adventure of a lifetime! Lecture phase, which is the first 3 months of this DTS, is time for you to go deeper in God yourself. We have international speakers coming to teach on different topics like how to hear God’s voice, understanding the father-heart of God, spiritual warfare – what it is, and how to deal with it, to name a few. It’s a really unique time for you to spend with God without a whole lot of other distractions. You will also learn about the history of missions in the Pacific, and the culture of the islands, which will give you insight into how they think and how they have developed since the introduction of the Gospel into their culture. You will also be studying the different spheres of society, what it means to have a Biblical world view, and why it is so important to be able to be influential in all aspects of a nation’s structure. Outreach, as we mentioned, will be in Vanuatu. You can expect to put what you have learned in the lecture phase to good use. Go Pacific is about how to love and invest in the people of the islands. There will be opportunities to not only share what you know and have experienced in God, but also to learn from our brothers and sisters in the South Pacific. We all have something to give. So how about it — are you ready to GO?
